Zakharova: US State Department is trying to destabilize the situation in Belarus

We do receive information that Western so-called democratization funds, which are closely associated with Western intelligence agencies, are developing a powerful propaganda campaign. Powerful, in terms of scale, because these are not some one-time actions.

She stressed that such actions are being done to stimulate protest sentiments in Belarus. They are increasing support for the fugitive opposition of Belarus, which, I recall, has repeatedly called on the West to act against the citizens of Belarus.

Thus, according to the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, the statement of the US State Department is an attempt to destabilize the situation in the republic.

In addition, she believes that such acts confirm Washington's established course of interfering in the internal affairs of Belarus, of striving to overthrow the legitimate authorities in this country.

These all stuffing, Maria Zakharova emphasized, are a tool to stimulate anti-state sentiments.

"We see the socio-political, socio-economic situation in Belarus as stable. The authorities provide a high level of security and law and order, "she added.

Systematic explanatory work with the population and the modernization of the political structure within the framework of the constitutional reform led to a significant decrease in the protest potential in society and to finding mutual understanding between the authorities and constructive socio-political forces.

Zakharova noted that the very political emigrants - in fact, people who actively called for Western actions against the citizens of Belarus, have now settled in countries neighboring Belarus, such as Poland and the Baltic states.

"They completely discredited themselves and lost authority even in the eyes of compatriots. Even in the West they are perceived as traitors. I really want to wish that the elections in Belarus were held in a calm atmosphere, "she added.

At the same time, against the background of the failure of efforts to rock the Belarusian society from the inside, it is impossible to exclude new attempts by the West, including through the Armed Forces of Ukraine under its control and gangs on Bankova Street, to realize an adventure in Belarus. This can be a gamble, including a military one. We see these aggressive statements by the State Department and other structures.

She reminded both Western strategists and their Ukrainian wards that a wide list of mutual obligations was recorded in the interstate treaty on security guarantees signed by the presidents of Russia and Belarus within the framework of the Union State.

These obligations relate to ensuring defense, protecting sovereignty, independence, the constitutional order of Russia and Belarus, as well as the integrity and inviolability of their territories.

For this, the available forces and means will be used, including those indicated in the new edition of the foundations of the state policy of the Russian Federation in the field of nuclear deterrence. This document was approved on November 19. During the signing ceremony, it was also announced that agreements had been reached on the deployment of missile systems in Belarus in the second half of 2025.

Thus, Russia will provide its ally with all the necessary assistance in eliminating both internal and external threats.

Any attempts to implement aggressive scenarios against Minsk are fraught with the most detrimental consequences for their performers and organizers, concluded Maria Vladimirovna.
